This artist of the great outdoors is also well-known for his beloved images of sled
dogs at their most noble and most mischievous. These seven-week old Siberian husky puppies
are eager to explore - except for one, who views their brave new world with certain skepticism.
But this was not the print Kennedy had originally intended.
"The puppy 'models' came up with their own idea, which was better than the best idea I had," the
artist says. "I was trying to get them to pose a certain way, but they have their own minds and
I was delighted to watch them go. The image came when I just let them be puppies." The result
is equally delightful for anyone who has ever admired the energy and innocence of man's best
friend. |
