Dahlia Dinalhaven Makes A Dory Deal,
Charles Wysocki tells a complete story with one picture. We may not know the reason this well-dressed lady,
with her handsome horse and buggy waiting nearby, needs a dory. However, we know she struck a sound
deal and in strict Yankee fashion, shook hands on it.
Charles Wysocki's inspirations quite often come from his frequent trips, on business or pleasure,
around New England. "I saw this small boat shop and wood pile," he said of one such trip, "while
they were loading a newly constructed dory on to a wheeled carrier. It was such a charming dell with
trees in bud, ready to blossom." How fortunate we are that he created this amusing story from
one quick look out a bus window in Bath, Maine!
