Description

In creating this painting of the three wise men as they approach Bethlehem, duBois researched the countryside and created the costuming himself. One hot and humid summer afternoon, he patiently photographed camels for hours, decorating each with an amazing array of silks, tapestries and tassels, while a costumed friend perched precariously atop each animal. His tireless research, his attention to detail and his unequaled creativity have again combined perfectly, and the artistic result is the opulent and beautiful: And Wisemen Came Bearing Gifts.

"...and lo, the star which they saw in the east went before them till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star they rejoiced with exceeding great joy."
