This print is a combination of richly woven tapestry of biblical research, authentic detail, and
duBois imagination. This project was nearly a year in the making. Tom not only researched
the story of the ark, but sewed the costumes worn by his models. He traveled to several zoos,
including those in San Diego, Brookfield, and Los Angeles, to sketch and photograph a variety of
animals. The rabbits, squirrel, and raccoons were painted from the many who live in Tom's country
neighborhood. Every animal in the painting has a mate and the fun is putting one and one together for a wild pair!
"When the rainbow is in the cloud, then I will look upon
it to remember the everlasting promise between God and every
living creature that is on the earth."
