Print Description:
|
"Of the four ancient elements, water is surely the most impressive. It can be calm,
a perfect mirror of nature's wonders. Or water can surge and plunge and dash itself
into a mist that dazzles us with the colors of the rainbow. Water can whisper; it
can gurgle, laugh, crash, thunder. I like to think that water is alive with the
poetry and power of God's creation.
The Power and The Majesty, second in my Streams of Living Water collection,
once again treats water as a manifestation of God's presence in the world. The
aspect of divinity revealed in this piece is very different than the tranquil
mood of "Beside Still Waters". Here we see the awesome power of God's might
revealed in a thundering waterfall hurling down its sheer precipice. And yet,
for all the grandeur of the scene and the undeniable exhilaration one feels
as witness, one can also sense a profound peacefulness that is most reassuring.
For though the power and peacefulness that is most reassuring. For though the
power and majesty portrayed may seem inaccessible, we as children of a loving
and powerful God have access to His majestic presence. As a symbol of that
access, you will notice th trail that marks a misty path to the very summit
of the glorious waterfall. Stroll with me along the trail and be refreshed
by The Power and The Majesty of the living water."
