"By the late 1930's, mechanical refrigeration had become commonplace; but many people, including my family, used the "icebox" throughout the 1940's. Even though the motor-driven ice truck had replaced the horse-drawn ice wagon long before I was born, the ice man remained the same: tough, strong, and always willing to chip off pieces of ice for neighborhood kids on a hot summer day.

"I hope my painting evokes feelings of serenity and peace. I wanted to capture these emotions in my world of canvas because they sometimes elude us in the world of reality."
