lash of the whip, piercing of the thorns, each stroke fo the hammer, and the slow tortuous
death done for me. Even though this event was pre-ordained and the centuries have
softened the impact of this horrific moment, the significance should never be taken
for granted. As the tears of God rent the sky, the blood of Jesus flowed down the cross and
the world became transformed. The blood is the tie that binds the flawed person to the
perfection of the Father, the downcast to the uplifted, the sinful to the forgiven, and changes
despair to hope. Jesus has truly saved the world."
