Ever wonder how an artist arranges an idyllic setting for a painting like
Just Kids? In this case, the artist had one idea, but his models had their own:
"My thought was to have a scene in which two little girls are arranging flowers while baby
goats (kids) nibble the fallen petals from the floor. My daughter Brittany (left) and Emmie were
posing perfectly. Then I let the goats in, and chaos broke out. My arrangements of roses became
lunch, and before I knew it, one of the goats was on top of the table munching at my props. The
girls just loved it - their calms in the midst of the 'goat storm' became the painting. But that's
kids for you."
