"Some of my best friends are people that tell me what they think is wrong with a painting
even though they might not know anything about art. I use all the criticism I can get to improve
the painting I'm working on. If a painting still doesn't work, I waterproof the smokehouse roof with
it and start again. I had some trouble with this painting, but through friendly criticism, it was
saved from the smokehouse.
Curry has been our dog of ice and snow from the beginning. Born in December, the temperature was 30 degrees
below for some time after we brought her home. I bought a sledding harness for her, and she loves pulling
the kids or me on the sled. All our dogs love rolling on the snow and think nothing of diving into the icy
creek for sticks. I leave my dogs outside year round. That way, they develop a fur coat that suits the
season. In the winter, they get such a thick coat, that if I bring them indoors, they become hot dogs. I found
they prefer being chilly dogs to hot dogs."
