In 1953, Master artist Arnold Friberg was selected, after a world-wide search to join
Cecil B. DeMille in producing the epic motion picture, The Ten Commandments. Nearly
3 years were spent in painstaking research; during that time, 15 historic paintings were
created, including The Word of the Lord which
depicts Moses receiving the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai. In recognition of
his monumental contribution, Mr. Friberg was nominated for an Academy Award (by the
Motion Picture Association). When unveiled, the paintings toured the world, touching
the hearts of millions who viewed them.
