Belt of Truth
|
"Stand therefore having your loins girt
about with truth." --- Ephesians 6:14
"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for
the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." --- I Peter 1:13
The Bottom Line
We need to "provide for honest things not only in the sight of the Lord, but
also in the sight of men." (II Corinthians 8:21). Yes, we need
to be truthful concerning all things; but we also need to stand on the "truth" of the
Bible. When we face
trials and tribulations, we need to "tighten" our belt while standing on truths written in
the Word of
God. What we know in the good times, we need to hang on to in the troublesome times.
We might just end up tightening our belt a notch or two. However, the good news is that "God is
faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted (whether it be doubting or giving up) above
that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be
able to bear it." (I Corinthians 10:13)
