Faith
|
Faith is a gift and also a manifestation of the fruit of the Spirit. The gift of
faith is imparted from God through the Word, but the fruit of faith is
produced by the Holy Spirit. The gift of faith can move mountains, but the
fruit of faith is what is required for daily living. The fruit of faith enables
us to walk and live by faith
(Romans 5:2).
Without this kind of faith, it is impossible to please God
(Hebrews 11:6).
According to The 1828 Webster's Dictionary, faithfulness means a "firm adherence
to the truth and to the duties of relationship with God; adhering to your duties;
loyalty; constant in performance of duties or services."
Being faithful is not always easy; it requires making a decision and then sticking to it
no matter what regardless of what are feelings tell us. However, when we are faithful and
do what God tells us to do, we will be rewarded; for the Bible says that if we're faithful
over little things, God will make us rulers of much.
Matthew 17:20
|
"If ye have
faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall
say unto this mountain, 'Remove hence to yonder place;' and it shall
remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
|
Matthew 21:22
|
"And all things, whatsoever
ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
|
Mark 9:23
|
"Jesus said unto
him, 'If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth'."
|
Mark 11:24
|
"Therefore I say unto
you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."
|
Romans 4:20-21
|
"He staggered not at
the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith giving glory
to God;"
"And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
|
Romans 10:17
|
"So then
faith cometh by
hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
|
Ephesians 6:16
|
"Above all, taking
the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts
of the wicked."
|
Hebrews 11:6
|
"Without
faith it is impossible to please
him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them
that diligently seek Him."
