Greg Olsen's newest portrait of Christ, entitled Prince of Peace, is
a lovely reminder that faith can be a source of much comfort.
The publisher, Mill Pond Press, will donate $1.00 from the sale of each of these
limited edition prints to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Multiply Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, degenerative disease
of the central nervous system that most often strikes adults in the prime of their lives. Doctors do not know the
cause, nor the cure.
MS touched the lives of everyone at Mill Pond Press when Nicki Watts, who was part of Mill Pond for two
decades, was diagnosed in 1998. Nicki played a vital role in launching Mill Pond's Visions of Faith division, art
that is very close to her heart. Although only in her early forties, the disabling affects of MS to her health dictated that
she resign from her position at Mill Pond. Nicki's own faith has been invaluable during the trying times that she and her
family have since experienced, and it is in her honor that Greg Olsen painted this piece.
The National MS Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of MS and provides support, information and hope
to those affected with this challenging, unpredictable disease. |
